Rainbows
03:47
|
|||
Rainbows, rainbows in the sky
I see rainbows, rainbows, in the sky
How the gentle colours glow
Crayon red to indigo
Dead doll eyes, visualise someone new...
Rainbows, rainbows in the sky
I see rainbows, vivid rainbows in the sky
Feel the electricity
Flowing through you and me
In the air, go prepare something new...
And if the dark clouds come
To steal the midday sun
Embrace the space unknown
For we are not alone...
So if the dark clouds come
To steal the midday sun
Embrace the space unknown
For we are not alone...
Rainbows, rainbows in the sky
I’m forever seeing rainbows, vivid rainbows in my eyes
And I smile when they appear
There is nothing left to fear here now
Wings spread, look ahead somewhere new...
And if the dark clouds come
To steal the midday sun
Embrace the space unknown
For we are not alone
So let those dark clouds come
To meet the midday sun
And light will fill the end
You’ve been a good good friend
You’ve been a good good friend
You were a good good friend.....

America America America
04:24
|
|||
Puncture, puncture my skin
Thrill me with your dreams
I’m hooked, hooked right in
America, America, America
Help me, help me out
Fill me with your dreams
I need to be freed from doubt
America, America, America
Dilute and water down
Bill me for your dreams
You’re waving as I drown
America, America, America
Don’t know right from wrong
Kill me with your dreams
One day we will get along
America, America, America

Darwin Was Right
01:53
|
|||
3am, and a needless altercation
A drunken suit pressed his point of view
Time stood still
And for days I lived those seconds
Nothing you can do
Will dissuade me now
From crawling on our knees
To swinging in the trees
Then pollution of the breeze
Can you believe
How far we’ve come?
How far we’ve come!
A&E, some 30 minutes later
To be told of a four hour wait
I laughed out loud
Until I was in stitches
The irony for once did not pass me by
It’s quiet now
So quiet now...

Kitty-Mae goes away
In her 3-man tent that she bought in Gwent
Pitches under the Cherry tree
With the home from home refugees
And this is how we spend our summer days
Plastic pints and patterned paper plates
No you couldn’t put a price on what we pay
For us to come and live this way
Dolly deals in her heels
Finger food to the multitude
Spreads fish on bruschetta bread
And gives out seeds to the poppy heads
And this is how we spend our summer days
With plastic pints and patterned paper plates
No you couldn’t put a price on what we pay
For us to come on out and play
Bohemians to be
We won’t whine if the sun don’t shine
Banjo Joes’ in the know he can show show show us for free
Micky Moore, what’s the score?
Year on year in the stratosphere
Stomps his feet, claps his hands
Avoids the hype and must see bands
And this is how we spend our summer days
With plastic pints and patterned paper plates
No you couldn’t put a price on what we pay
For us to come and live this way

Why Do You Still Bug Me?
04:20
|
|||
My world revolves like a silver coin
Spinning towards the table’s edge
I often wonder what these pills have done
To the wiring in my head
But I know you
Did you know me?
I get involved with too many things
Which are best left alone
But this silence stings
Yes your s-s-silence stings
Why do you still bug me?
Why do you still bug me?
I can see, it takes up energy
And I’ve no energy for you
We get diluted with each passing year
It’s only now I recognize
You took much more than you ever gave
Then hung me out to dry
Expectation high
My expectation too high....
Why do you still bug me?
Why do you still bug me?
I can see, it wastes energy, you’re not worth energy
I can see, it takes up energy
And I’ve no energy for you

Ether Ghost
03:36
|
|||
I’m the ether ghost,
Living by the coast
In a semi D,
Quietly...
You can hear my moans,
As I drag my bones
Across your screen,
Where have you been?
You see the name, but can you place the face?
The mask casts shadows only fools would chase
So why do you try?
I’m the ether man,
In an unmarked van
Driving down your street,
On a plastic seat
I turn the bend,
And start to blend
Into the haze,
Of our yesterdays
You see the name, but can you face the face?
The past casts shadows only fools would trace
So why do you try?
I’m the Ether Friend,
Who receives and sends
Wired energy,
By the sea
Out on a limb
With leather skin
From the outside
Looking in
And it feels like heaven here in outer space
Watching the pieces all fall into place
The dish is cold, and ready for you to taste
You know you want to try...

Move Away From London
02:25
|
|||
Move away, move away from London
Leave the crush and the rush to someone else
I have watched your sparkle fade
And lose the good friends you had made – oh no.
Don’t know how, don’t know how you’re feeling
On the tube each day from Ealing
Broadway, zone three, 45
Minutes for you to survive intact
And your place has been infested
By the clones you once detested
They take and take what they need
Bleed you dry then feed and feed and feed
Move away move away from London
Come home, reconnect and unwind
You know it’s here you’re missed the most
On the windswept Norfolk coast
Come breathe the air and overdose

Now And Then
03:02
|
|||
Now and then,
A pop up box in my mind
Still finds me wanting...
You and me, me and you
What’s it all about?
Alfie says nothing
High so high to low
Emotionally hit meltdown
Now and then, then and now
There are things I would change
If I could go back in time
Listen up and be open
Make a leap, take a punt
On what you’re all about
And not fix what ain’t broken
High so high to low
Emotionally hit meltdown
Now and then, then and now
And I’m here,
Now you’re there
So it goes
Round and round and round and round and round
Don’t fix what ain’t broken
High so high too high
Emotionally low
High so high so high
Emotionally sick, meltdown
Now and then, then and now

Mental Photograph
03:42
|
|||
Focus the eye
Capture the style
Then ask yourself
Why? Why? Why?
Colour the sky
Cobalt and clear
No one need know just
What draws you here
And you can place it in your hand
And you can make a mental photograph
Upload it on demand
And smile.....
Add it up
Break it down
Seemed worthless then
But priceless now
So don’t try too hard (Mondays)
Don’t talk too much (always)
Layer the masks (cut me down)
And retouch (to size)
And you can place it in your hand
And you can make a mental photograph
Upload it on demand
And smile.....
Yes you can place it in your hand
And take a mental photograph
And then you’ll understand
How it feels
But should the lines begin to blur
Come over and have a quiet word
Don’t worry her

Swedish Snow
01:49
|
|||
The cemetery candles flicker at night
Like scattered stars dusting the ground
It’s bitterly cold at thirty below
Walking on Swedish snow...
And this is the place we have chosen
It took nine years for us to arrive
Then Andy, Slim Tim and parents flew in
To tread lightly on Swedish snow...
Oh my winter bride,
Let’s stay outside
If I could, I would live this one day
Over and over and over again
Over and over again…
Twenty Fifth of December 2002
You promised me and I promised you
To hold one another and never let go
On the frozen white Swedish snow
The frozen white Swedish snow...

Hymn 47
03:46
|
|||
Some days I’m truly hopeless, beyond repair
Can’t seem to find focus... handle with care
Oh give me faith, not religion
Tell me truth, with just a smidgeon of doubt
So I can work it out by myself
Some say we’re on a journey, it starts inside
There are no roads or rivers, there is no park and ride
So give me faith, not religion
Tell me truth, with a suspicion of doubt
So I can work it out for myself
...To live the daily grind
And make up my own mind
Take as I find..
Give me faith, not religion
Tell me truth, with a suspicion of doubt
So I can work it out by myself
Keep on keeping on...
Keep on keeping on...
Keep on keeping on...
