Track Name: A Simple Man
I am a simple man, don’t have much to say…
If you peeled the layers away I think you’ll find
I’m just cynical, cold and clinical
And you may wonder why…
But is it any wonder why?

‘Cos I’ve been touched and stained, kicked, tricked and framed
By people who I used to think were friends
It never ends this cavalcade of poor choices I have made
Did I expect too much?
Do I expect too much?

God knows I get it wrong, and muck it up…
Well and truly fuck it up with everybody else
Then the walls start closing in, so I shed my skin
For another day…
Is there another day?

And as I flounce around, the departure lounge
My flight has been delayed
Temporarily been delayed…

But I know when I’ll arrive, I will feel more alive
More alive than I have been for years
It will be beautiful, yes so beautiful
And I’ll be a lucky man, a lucky man
For a simple man…..

Track Name: Happy... At Least For Now
Mid-afternoon, snowflakes in June
Musical chairs at the top of the stairs
And small wonder that I
Would be the first to deny it
Happy… at least for now

Spend the weekends, meeting with friends
Dogs off the leash as we walk on the beach
And this snapshot in time
Was posted online
Tagged “happy”….at least for now

Days become weeks become months become years
I’ve seen days become weeks become months become years
And I’m still here…
I’m still here…

Patiently waiting for cracks to appear
I’m still here, I am still here
I’m watching, I’m waiting
You know I am still here

Track Name: Beach Road Lullaby
The sea rolls in over pebbled stone
Touched my feet, kissed my soul
A winter moon will slowly rise
To mesmerise these feral eyes
And turn the tide

From Beach Road up to West Street
Indisposed and indiscrete
I’d say too much if I could speak
Although I try, my mouth goes dry
And no words come

The sea rolls in, over pebbled stone
Touched my feet, kissed my soul
A winter moon will slowly die
And we both know, that I must go
Go with no goodbye

Track Name: Close Season
We’re gonna get it together you and me
In June and July when our weekends are free
Make up the numbers, four plus one
Redefine our idea of fun, fun, fun, fun

“In The Summertime”
“Red Red Wine” and...
“I Feel Fine”
Not “Yesterday”

There was a time when it meant everything
A pseudo religion, hear the faithful sing (ahh)
High on emotion, hooked on despair
It gets under your skin and messes with your hair (yeah yeah)

Track Name: Death On The Riverbank
I jumped in a taxi, came as soon as I could
Stopped for some tinnies, rods and hot food
And I brought a warm jacket in case you were cold
Cos I know you’re a good lad till the bad side takes hold.... over you

Thought we could go fishing and talk through the night
Put the madness behind us, put the world to rights
Cos I too have demons and a death wish lifestyle
And if only I could lay low like you did for a while... for a while

Ha’way, Ha’way,
Ha’way, Ha’way,

But they won’t let me see you, they turned my help down
Said I had been drinking, and should go back to town
In my head it was simple, you just needed a friend
Now the news say it’s over... and darkness descends... over me

Track Name: Hello Or Goodbye
I fell asleep upon the sand
Heard her voice, held her hand
And dreamed of being swallowed by the sea
We ducked and dived on the ocean bed
As waves collapsed inside my head
I hope I don’t wake up alone...

She floats around my sulking skull
Gloats - my life is duller now
She’s no longer by my side -
Yeah, and who am I to disagree
When the mirror looks back at me
And reveals a foolish man

Where is she now?
How would it be with her now...
Toxic? Utopia? A craving or a phobia?
Hello or goodbye?

Flashback to her basement flat
Marlbro Lites and rising damp
With a single bed too big for two
And this is how we’d spend our days
In a haze of lust and takeaways
Too wired to even step outside

The key is tight inside the lock
A cuckold in a floral frock
Believe what you want to believe
Alcohol mixed with juice
A neck is placed inside the noose
And hangs on each word she breathes

I’m waiting for a miracle
A thunderbolt, a fireball
The temperature is starting to rise
Beads of sweat become a stream
I’m on the shore back in my dream
And I hope I don’t wake up alive

Where is she now?
How would it be with her now...
Toxic? Utopia? A craving or a phobia?
Hello or goodbye?

Track Name: Fly
She falls asleep, head on my chest
Arms wrapped around like a safety belt
I’m wide awake, and cannoto move
The sound of her breathing fills the room
Soon she will fly
And be higher than the clouds
Drifting by………

One shattered dream made of glass
That looked to the future but lives in the past
And the parody of the heart she broke
Laughs and cries at the sickest joke
Laughs and cries at the sickest joke
Laughs and cries…
Soon, soon she will fly
And be higher than the stars
In the sky…..

Fly, fly, fly away
There are no tomorrows in this world of todays

She fell asleep, head on my chest
Arms wrapped around like a safety belt
I’m dead awake and cannot move
The sound of her silence fills the room….

Track Name: Amsterdam
Flew in from Vancouver
To Schipol Amsterdam
Taxi to Hotel Van Onna
Sleeping off the time lag
Through the church bell chimes
Movement and stillness align

Spinning silk with silver threads
Weaving words inside our heads
Smiling and silent
We wake to dream

Tourists in the main drag
Flesh behind the glass
Red boats float gently past
We take, that’s a given
Whatever comes our way
In tandem and random today

Spinning silk with silver threads
Weaving worlds inside our heads
Smiling and silent
We wake to dream

Track Name: Where Is The Girl I Dream Of?
She's made for me, she's made for me
How could there be anyone else?
She takes my time, all of my time but where...
Is the girl I dream of, the girl I dream of, the girl....

Don't use my head, don't use my head
I use my heart to think instead
And she makes it worthwhile, makes it all worthwhile but where...
Is the girl I dream of, the girl I dream of, the girl....

Blown by the wind, carried on the tide
You can wait a lifetime for a moment to arrive
What if it doesn't arrive?

She's made for me, she's made for me
How could there be anyone else? (there's no one else)
She takes my time, all of my time but where...
Is the girl I dream of, the girl I dream of, the girl….

Track Name: Stranger In My Bed
Oh how still the night
So pained and polite
I lie awake
I lie awake
I lie and ache

I know your arms, your legs, your hips your waist
Your mouth, your tongue, your lips, your taste
I know every muscle, corpuscle and nerve
Each line, crease and curve
Every speckle, freckle, blemish and mark
I know my way round your body in the dark
Every hollow, sigh, breath and swallow
But now there’s a stranger in my bed

I know your shape, kissed the nape of your neck so many times
Thought I’d be able to read any tell tale trouble signs
A change of mood or distant stare
Sense barriers which before weren’t there
Perhaps I’ve been too comfortable, too blazé to say
Is everything between us still ok?
Once I knew what went on inside your head
But now there’s a stranger in my bed

Oh how still the night
So pained and polite
I lie awake
I lie awake
I lie and ache

Track Name: Tidal Wave
Brake! Slow it down
We’ve been around too long it seems
And all, that’s been, has gone
Am I the only one who sees?
The wind blow through the trees
As leaves dance on the breeze
And fall….

Wake! Let’s move on
We don’t belong but that’s ok
You know time is rarely kind
You can’t rewind and start over again
But if you take, take what you need
Find something worth holding onto
When debris from this day
Hits like a tidal wave
